Bridgerton’s third season delivers another serving of lavish costumes, witty banter, and dramatic entanglements that fans have come to expect. While the absence of the beloved Duchess is a notable change, the series continues to be a delightful escape into Regency-era romance.
However, this season takes significant liberties with the book version, the source material. For instance, Penelope’s self-described spinster status at 19 feels unearned at her young age. This, and perhaps other plot points, might have resonated better had the writers aged the characters slightly, like 26-28.
